08 October 2017Bookends 2017 Draws to a Close

The final few days of Bookends 2017 were filled with questions.....and answers. On Thursday we watched Demain (Tomorrow) a celebration of what we humans are doing to save our planet. This was brought to us by Mairi Stones of Awakening in Benderloch and we had two showings to accommodate the numbers interested. We "finished what we'd started" on Thursday afternoon with a large group coming together to sew, knit, paint and weave some almost forgotten projects. Such was the fun and inspiration for getting these done that we have another day planned for Thursday 9th November when you can join us in The Reading Room at The Victory Hall Benderloch to finish what YOU'VE started.

The finale of Grumpy Old Men: The Campbells are Coming didn't disappoint as we were treated to stories and rants and the answers to many questions ie. What did Campbell Munro do to his cabbages? You had to be there.

05 October 2017All Fun And Games

we're not quite finished.

03 October 2017Fun and Laughter

Saturday 30th September brought Bookends 2017 to a close with spine chilling tales from Lindsay Campbell in the afternoon followed by stories about the law and bereavement with Graeme Pagan and Allison Pringle in the evening. Despite the subject matter the audience laughed, giggled and laughed again. A great day to end Bookends 2017....not forgetting that the fringe begins on Monday 2nd Octiber and runs til Friday 6th with lots of other events and The Reading Room open daily 3.30-6.30pm.

30 September 2017Big Bookends Quiz

What a fantastic night hosted by Craig Munro at The Reading Room for Bookends 2017. It was neck and neck for several rounds...

heads were down, faces frowning, teams punching the air when the answers were revealed but there can be only one winner! Those who came up trumps with a huge score and winning the (very) goody bag from The World Famous Pink Shop were Las Ramblas from.......Oban! Congratulations to them and a huge well done to all teams who made the night a rip roaring success.

Las Ramblas...victors at Bookends 2017.
